The type choices for the cards is a pairing of Apple Chancery for the display font and Myriad Pro Condensed for the information. It is a subtle aesthetic design that I find creates interest and focus that may not be obvious as to why it does. It plays off the featured quote on the card, "The diamond in the rough." The diamond/s are aligned and points to the content on the card, this helps guide the reader through the information and uses intervals to determine reading order based on the size of the graphic. The graphic element in this project is the diamond. By choosing a stock of paper that contains subtle textures that were brought out with lighting and focusing on certain areas of the composition I was able to merge images with sharp and blurry edges to move away from the direct appearance of paper. To accomplish this task I experimented with photographing paper as the source of the imagery and in order to emulate the setting of the story and feeling of wonder and magic that is Aladdin, I decided to curve and twist strips of paper and overlapped them to create different compositions and sense of depth.
